Must Visit Places in Bangalore


In a workaholic IT city like Bangalore, the hectic work schedules might get the best of you but are also sure to make your life quite monotonous. A small break never hurts and what is better than a quick weekend getaway. You can plan some small getaway trips in and around Bangalore. As, this city has so many places of interest it is very difficult to choose a good place for that relaxing weekend.   1. Cubbon Park



Cubbon Park is a wonderful green island situated in the middle of Bangalore was created in the late 19th century by Major General Richard Sankey, who was then the British Chief Engineer of Mysore state. Initially it was just 100 acres, but now is spread across 300 acres. What adds a special beauty to this park is the Thick Bamboo gardens. This park is interspersed with various heritage buildings, which surprisingly do not disturb the beauty of the Cubbon Park. Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall, Attara Kacheri, The Museum of Archaeological Survey of India, to name a few. In front of these buildings, you can also find beautiful statues of King Edward VII, Queen Victoria, Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar, Major General Sir Mark Cubbon, and Sri K. Seshadri Iyer. A centre named Jawahar Bal Bhavan is made specially for children, where they have a toy train, boat ride on a tranquil canal, play station and children’s library. There are a lot of interesting places to visit within the park itself, Vidhana Soudha, Sir M Visweshwaraiah Science Museum, General Post Office, Aquarium, Doll museum, and the Historic Band Stand, to name a few.

  1. Lal Bagh


This beautiful botanical Garden, Lal Baugh was commissioned by Hyder Ali in the 18th century and was further beautified by his son, the most famous Tipu Sultan. Thousands of varieties of tress can be found in this 200 acre wide garden. There is also a glass house built by the Britishers, where the flower shows are conducted every six months, particularly on Independence Day and Republic Day. Also, the park has a huge rock, which is more than 3000 million years old, on top of which there is a tower built by Kempe Gowda, founder of Bangalore. Innovative Film City is an entertainment theme park which has something for everyone. This place is located about 40 km from Bangalore.
